How Can We Improve This Memo?

Readers’ Responses:

Love it. Keep up the good work!

We enjoy getting your memo. I have used your stories, group activities and trivia questions in our bi-monthly self advocacy meetings and everyone joins in the discussion and has an enjoyable and informative hour.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks,
Judy Caillouette

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the weekly memos. I have used some for my self-advocacy group I teach.

I would buy the materials, but they’re a little pricey!

Start asking for audience comment. Involve the listeners in a dialogue. Give names and produce letters with points made. "Those who will not listen, neither should they speak."

I like the newsletter. Personal stories of self-advocacy and overcoming obstacles would be inspiring to some, informative to others. I would like to see more of that type of story in the newsletter. Also, include a calendar of upcoming events related to the industry.

Thanks!

We share the memo’s at our People First meetings. Thanks for all that you do!

I personally love the weekly SARN. It is a great way to have a weekly self advocacy conversation with the people we support at Lifeworks. I feel like the work is done for us and all we have to do is participate in a conversation. It is a great resource.

The only thing I may add are a few more conversation points, or additional resources beyond ACT.

I love it. Thank you for the wonderful resource.

Betsy

From what I see it is great, I see nothing wrong with it. This is one person not the whole group that you send it too. I work from 8-12 every day, I see Lisa every other week at CAP and on Thursdays at the Aktion Club meeting. Myself, I have been in an accident 12 years ago, and I did not know how hard it was to get people to believe you, the last time this was done is when Jesus came to the world just to see how his creation would excrete him and what did they do? They crucified him, but he forgave them because they did not know what they were doing.

Question - what do you think should have happened on that day? I say just believe in Jesus and work for being with him up in heaven forever.

Philip

To Whom It May Concern:

I think the memos you send are wonderful and I have shared some of the information with colleagues.

Thanks for doing a wonderful job!

I think this memo is a great tool for provoking discussion at self advocacy groups. I use it a lot and recommend it to others as a resource. I think it is excellent just the way it is. Short and to the point, with great suggestions and cool trivia facts. I wish I had more time to respond to the trivia and suggest new questions, but please know, we are put here and we appreciate what you are doing!

For a topic how about: having discussions- how do you get people talking and what are some of the things leaders and advisors do sometimes that get in the way of a discussion flowing.
