Timeless Values

The ancient Greeks held up four main virtues: justice, courage, wisdom, and temperance. In the Middle Ages, faith, hope, and charity were prized.

It just goes to show you: values don’t go out of date. People strove for these values ages ago. We still hold them dear today.

When you think of it, the values of self-advocacy are just plain human values. They have been around for years and years.

Values Activity

Thanksgiving is a good time to reflect on our values—things that are really important to us. Invite everyone in your group to name one value of self-advocacy (something that is important to self-advocates). Try to have each value be one word. Make a list in large print and put it on the wall during meetings.
