Nine Things We Need

Liz Obermayer is a self-advocate leader. She works in Washington, D.C. Liz says there are nine things people want and need:

1. To be respected.
2. To live in the community.
3. To live in safe places.
4. To live with the supports needed.
5. A self-determined life.
6. The chance to dream.
7. The chance to contribute.
8. The chance to make mistakes.
9. To be loved.

Now that’s common sense!
