Indy by Bus!

Travel is a great way to learn new things… but it’s expensive.

Remember the 2008 national self-advocacy conference this fall? What’s the cheapest way to get there? Is it by plane, train, bus, or car?

From Minneapolis, it would cost…

more than $300 per person to travel by plane.
$148 per person to travel in a four-person car.
$144 per person to travel by train.
$100 per person to travel by charter bus.

Charter bus is cheapest! You just need 55 self-advocates to join you on the bus.

However you get there, go. Have fun. Build self-advocacy. ROAD TRIP!

2.	Organize the Bus Trip Talk with your group about who wants to go. Find out the cost of a charter bus from your area. Then call your statewide organization to see who else is going. Get groups to join in, then charter the bus (and start raising money). [Return to top]
