Wanted: Resource Ideas

   
     

Have you seen Offense Taken? It’s a new film about the R-word. It’s a DVD showing self-advocates and allies taking action.

Videos like this one are a great way to start a discussion. They can also inspire your group to take action. What other videos have you seen that can help self-advocates?

  Talk about resources your group has used, such as DVDs, training materials, and speakers. Make a list of the ones that have had a big influence on your work. Then send the list to ACT. We’ll post them to share with other SARN readers.

Today’s Trivia Question:

d) It’s on a work day, so it decreases voter turnout.

Many social activists oppose this date, believing that it decreases voter turnout because it’s part of the work week. Many advocate making Election Day a national holiday.

Question was: This year, Election Day is November 4th. Why are many social activists opposed to Election Day always being on a Tuesday?

b. Tuesday was the day President Lincoln was shot.
c. Nazi Germany had their elections on Tuesday, too.
